I cannot say enough nice things about Canon and Canon Professional Services. I recently saw Lindsay Adler demonstrate Canon’s 135 f/2 lens at Imaging USA 2016. As a member of CPS I was able to check out the lens as a loaner for a week. I’ve been putting it to the test as a good portrait lens is very important to me. This morning I tried it out on one of my three adopted cats, Rosie. There are many other far more technical reviews of the lens on other sites. This is my review for my purposes. Just thought I’d share if anyone else might be interested.
Since I primarily shoot as a wedding photographer, the focal length is a very practical concern. This first set of pictures was with four lenses from approximately the same location. All were shot at f/2.8, 1/125 sec, ISO 640 with a Canon 5D MIII in window light except for the 135… I didn’t realize I had it on 2.5 until I was posting it in the blog. No adjustments were made to the images in post:
The next thing was to move as needed to frame the images as much like each other as possible and compare the results. The only post production was cropping and sharpening.
And now Rosie is bored with the whole process and is abandoning me.
And here’s a final side-by-side comparison:
Tomorrow I get to try it out on people 🙂

I am currently between studios. While the plan was to move from the current location to the new one, the new location is not ready yet. So I will temporarily be without a physical studio location for a month or so. However, I will continue to accept on-location sessions. I am just moving -- not closing.
