If you live with or are a creative you know we have our emotional ups and downs. My husband often says living with me is like a roller coaster ride! A round of steroids for a sinus infection always throws me into one of the really “down” times. Add in a stomach bug on top of that and I have been feeling pretty low this week. I didn’t even get excited when my new 5D Mark IV was delivered by UPS. I actually left it in the box unopened. So that will tell all you photographers out there just how low I was. As I told a friend, it’s one thing to know intellectually you’re experiencing side effects from medication and quite another to be able to do anything about your feelings. At least I could keep telling myself that I knew I would come out of it soon. I just needed to be patient.
Patient. Ugh. Not a word to describe me.
Late yesterday I was at the computer, looking out my office window, unable to pick up my hands and do anything worthwhile. Then I saw these little red bursts of color in the shade under the crepe myrtles. For the first time this week I actually picked up and enjoyed my camera. And I realized the fog was lifting.
I love dreamy floral images — not the sharply focused ones — so I used the LensBaby Velvet 56 on the new Mark IV. Two textures from Shadowhouse Creations were applied in PSCC to complete my vision.
Posted in hopes that they will lift someone’s spirit.

I am currently between studios. While the plan was to move from the current location to the new one, the new location is not ready yet. So I will temporarily be without a physical studio location for a month or so. However, I will continue to accept on-location sessions. I am just moving -- not closing.
