Wisteria

I had to interrupt my morning walk and get my camera when I saw these lovely, fragrant wisteria blooms. I suppose it is an invasive plant, but when you open your front door and are embraced by the lovely scent of its blooms you don’t think about that so much.

Hyacinths on a lightbox.

It has been a busy Monday — in a good way. After finishing up client work I devoted the end of my work day to editing this Hyacinth image. I couldn’t decide if I liked it better in color or black and white. I love color, but I also love seeing God’s handiwork in the lines of nature. I am so blessed to live where I can stop and enjoy the beauty of a world not ravaged by war.

Peony Double Tulips in Black and White I tried something new last week — photographing flowers on a lightbox. This was one of my favorites from the session. The color of the tulips was beautiful but the leaves went a little too yellow-green for me. Instead of adjusting the color in Photoshop I decided to convert it to a black and white image. I always love seeing the lines and forms of flowers when the color is removed. Shamrocks The symbol of Ireland. It brings to mind the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. “We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th to honor the death of Ireland’s patron saint, St. Patrick, who brought Christianity to the island in the 5th century, using symbols like the shamrock to explain the Trinity and driving out snakes (legend says).
