I thought I’d take a break on the blog today from weddings and sessions and post something I enjoy doing when I’m not working.  I recently had occasion to drive up Highway 9 to Ashford, AL.  I do love driving country roads.  I brought my infrared camera with me and stopped at a few places during the trip.  For those of you who may be interested, my infrared camera is my original Canon 5D modified for color infrared by Lifepixel. I usually keep a Canon 50mm 1.8 II lens on it as that is one of the lenses recommended by Lifepixel.  Here’s a bit of what I discovered!

The white building is located next to Kendrick Baptist Church on Hwy 9. I'm not sure if it belongs to the church or had another use before it was abandoned.

This church and cemetery is near the historical marker about Socopatoy. It says the cemetery was was established in 1840.

I'm guessing this is referred to as the Suttle Cemetery as the marker says Jesse Suttle was the first person buried here in 1836.
