One of my granddaughters and I went to Montevallo AL recently for the Tulip Festival at American Village. We took a detour with a friend by Orr Park on the way home. I’ve had it on my “to do” list for a few years now and after visiting wish I’d gone sooner.
Orr Park is a beautiful and well-maintained 40-acre public park in Montevallo. The photos I took were documentary rather than creative but I chose to share them in hopes that it will encourage others to visit. I gave my granddaughter a little Fuji Instax camera to use. Her imagination went wild as she talked about all the stories she could write about the characters she found carved into the trees. She was going to use her photos to illustrate the stories. I can’t wait to read them! And I felt like I was on an adult Easter egg hunt as we walked around the park looking for the magical carvings. I hope this will encourage others to take a day trip to Orr Park.
