What happens when you schedule a pet photography session with me? I thought I’d show you a few images from the most recent session to illustrate.

Lexie is a 14-year old German Shepherd mix rescued as a puppy. Her person contacted me about a session and we discussed locations and expectations before meeting at Grace Episcopal Church. I was looking for a pretty location that would offer greenery, shade, and easy navigation for a dog of Lexie’s age. I requested and received permission to photograph on their property.

Due to our Alabama humidity I started with the photographs of Lexie and her person together.

Then we included some of Lexie by herself.

The next day I uploaded a proof gallery. The owner selected her favorites and they were fully edited before I provided them as digital downloads with permission to print and/or use in social media.

The owner requested the images in color. It was my choice to additionally convert some of them into black and white. When you take color out of an image what you have left is the emotional connection. Both the color and black and white were provided to the owner.

If you’re uncomfortable with your dog being off-leash we can easily manage that in Photoshop:

I hope you’ll give thought to a portrait session for your special pet. For more information or to see more samples check out the Pet Portfolio. Or contact me to schedule your session.

All sessions are on location by appointment only.
