New in the Etsy Shop today is a texture set designed with spring in mind. The textures add a slight haze to the image reminiscent of spring and a subtle border on the edges of the image.

Here are a few samples with directions on how I used the textures to achieve the end results.

Spring-4 in soft light mode, 50% opacity, masking off the main subject

Spring-3 converted to black & white, in Soft Light mode, 63%, masking off main subject area

Spring-9 in Soft Light mode, 50% opacity, masked off main subject area
Spring-8 converted to black and white, Multiply mode, 53% opacity, masking off main subject

There are three bonus textures in this set that are not featured on the cover image. I actually started a second spring set but did not have time to finish it so just added them in this set until I could add more to the set. You’ll find Spring 2-1, 2-5, and 2-9 as the bonus textures.

Spring 2-1 converted to black and white, Soft Light mode, 73%, masked off main subject area

I often like to add more than one texture to my images for added dimension. The next image is an example. I pulled a texture from a new texture set I’m working on. Look for “Old Photos” to be released soon.

Spring-6 in Soft Light mode, 45% opacity, with masking
Old Photos-3bw, 36% opacity, with masking

I hope you find this helpful in using the new Spring texture set now available in the Etsy Shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DiAnnaPaulkPrints
